Our senses have been trained in the course of evolution and they have adapted for receiving and transmitting messages, which take place with help of light pulses. The so-called “artificial” electric light still isn’t able to fully approximate the quality and quantity of natural life, even in spite of some millennial technological development. Why? The phenomenon of natural light is for now still unavailable and irreplaceable, namely because of its many complexity. The main feature of natural life is, to create a feeling that it comes from everywhere. Mostly, that it comes from above. In the cloudy sky her language becomes softer and reserved; in clear sky it becomes more direct. She can also create very strong light dark contrasts, so that detection of chromaticity of space narrows to a white / black.

 

Interior spaces of buildings that don’t have windows on their walls and the only light there comes from the above, take exterior as a kind of distant reality. Here panorama and lighting merge to one. Light dominates. Light openings in the roof allow special, even an abstract relationship with the external space. This relationship creates light impressions in interior, which are the closest to what humans are written to, regardless to all technical development. We are talking about nature and her rhythms. There rhythms still dictate the human internal biological clock, they influence on his mood, working productivity etc. Above all, the “ceiling” of the space illuminated with natural zenithal light becomes kind of a huge display of color and light impressions, which are individually unique and irreplaceable and at the same time unpredictable. Thus, the power of light, its color temperature and after the always changing relationships full/empty, sunny/cloudy, light/dark, blue/white, sometimes gray/orange. Deep blue of autumn sky or hazy veil of summer vapors, leave their marks on walls, floor and furniture. When the setting sun descends below the clouds and lights them with orange color, this color transmits through the room and on quite a special way it mirrors on people’s faces. After their consultancy we decided to consider their ideas and expert advice. As the result, we have been more than pleasantly surprised.
